Nevermore

Moodboards and inspiration

Nevermore is a fictional novel by William Hjortsberg. The book follows Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle as they work together to solve the murder mystery of the "Poe Killer", the "Poe Killer" murders his victims by taking inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe's stories. Throughout the book Houdini battles with his own infidelity, disbelief in spiritualism, an dislike (or actually lust) of Opal Crosby Fletcher Opalis a widowed and wealthy spirit medium who believes she is the reincarnation of Egyptian god, Isis. For my Major Project, I chose to design Opal Crosby Fletcher's library in her chateau on Millionaires Row, New York. I researched topics such as, ancient Egyptian architecture, patterns, Gods, Richard Morris Hunt's work, and much more. I decided Opal's library would be full of colour, include many private & calm spaces, and be very eccentric.
